Ross Farm
NEW ROSS, NOVA SCOTIA
Jost + Architects was commissioned to incorporate a new 17,000 square-foot building on the Provincial Heritage Farm site. With the largest building on the site at approximately 2,500 square feet in foot print, the scale of the building was a significant design challenge. The solution was to bury approximately 10,000 square feet of the building and to break up the remaining exposed portions into smaller units replicating the size and scale of other buildings on the site. Included in the project was a complete site re-design for access, public parking and services. Work included coordination of Geo-technical information, on-site surveys, and project budgeting including coordination with third party cost projections. The building also incorporated geothermal heating and cooling.
